The Brickfield Accessibility+ toolkit alternative file format conversion tools is an enterprise only component, it provides teachers and students the ability to easily convert the following to alternate accessible formats within their course:

  • File resources
  • Folder resources
  • Book resources
  • Page resources

It creates an easy-to-use integration with our file conversion partner, SensusAccess, who receives and processes all the conversion requests, returning the new files back to our Brickfield Accessibility+ toolkit. Which then automatically adds these additional formats to the relevant resources and activities for download.

  • A user with administrative privileges must first Deploy alternate formats on the site for it to be usable.
  • The teacher will then need to upload the files into a convertible resource within the course for the conversion option to appear.

How it works

  1. Requesting a conversion
  2. The file conversion request is then sent to SensusAccess.
  3. When the conversion is ready, the user will receive a notification containing a link for retrieving the newly processed file conversion.
If the file conversion has already been processed by SensusAccess for another user on the site, the converted file will be automatically downloaded on request.

Who can use it?

The following are available to Teachers, for more information, see each individual article:
